The anthropologist Julien Ribeiro, is curator and founder of “Lavoir Public”, a creative space dedicated to changing writings in Lyon, which he directed until 2016. He works on the impacts of politics on our lives and our creative processes, with the place of minorities playing a central role in his research. A founding member of the WAW collective (LGBTQI archive and contemporary art), he is part of the monitoring committee of the exhibition Histoire et Mémoires des Luttes contre le VIH/sida at the Mucem in Marseille.

Nothing Without Us: The Women Who Will End AIDS

This unique documentary charts the invaluable contributions of women, past and present, in the fight against AIDS. Activists, scientists and academics have highlighted the fact that AIDS was not a disease confined to white gay men. Their actions in the United States and Africa have enabled women with AIDS to be considered at last, and to have their right to access treatments respected. It is a struggle that proceeds from the screening centres of the Louisiana ghettos to the first HIV clinic in Burundi. The film pays homage to all the women who have contributed to and continue the fight to eradicate this disease to this day.
