LaToya Ruby Frazier

LaToya Ruby Frazier was born in 1982 in Braddock, Pennsylvania, USA. Her work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Musée des Arts Contemporains in Hornu (2017), CAPC in Bordeaux (2016), Carré d’art in Nîmes (2015), the Brooklyn Museum in New York, and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston (2013). Frazier has also participated in the 56th Venice Biennale (2015), the 8th Busan Biennale (2014) or the 76th Whitney Biennial (2012). The artist has received numerous accolades including the Gordon Parks Foundation Award in 2016 and the MacArthur Fellowship in 2015. In the same year the International Center of Photography in New York awarded her the Infinity Award for her book The Notion of Family (Aperture, 2014).
