What do we mean by a fictional identity, and is it really fictional? To what extent does an embodied character become real, and how can it be given movement?

In this workshop, drag king artist x0x0 invites participants to explore, through practical and collective exercises, how gestures, postures and voices can transform our perception of ourselves and of others.

By experimenting with different ways of walking, dancing or holding oneself, participants will discover how the body becomes not only a playful tool but also a means of reflecting on gender stereotypes and the ways they shape our everyday lives. Each participant will be encouraged to invent their own alter ego, somewhere between fiction and reality, estrangement and embodiment.

While the previous workshop focuses on spoken words and how to use text and voice to create an alter ego, this session will focus on the body, movement and corporal attitudes to build identity physically.

No prior experience is required. Bring comfortable clothing and let yourself be surprised by what your body can create.

This workshop is part of the series “Performing identities”. While it is not mandatory, it is recommended to participate in all three sessions (occurring on 16.11 and 30.11.2025)

Biographies:

x0x0 is a drag king artist born from an artistic and identity-driven journey that began three years ago. Trained in fine arts, x0x0 engages in a research-based approach focused on gender, performance, and representations of masculinity. After exploring drag queen codes, he shifted toward king performance, while discovering his non-binary identity through these experiments. Today, x0x0 moves between the imagery of a gogo dancer and a gym coach, playing with masculine stereotypes and gendered postures. Influenced by pop culture, queer codes, and practices of deconstruction, x0x0 uses the stage as a laboratory to manipulate genderexpressions. He advocates for a radically open vision of drag: a space where anyone can claim, twist and reinvent the codes.
