This workshop invites you to explore sound, space and materiality through clay. Together with the artist, you’ll listen to sounds and record them within the museum, getting inspiration from the reflections triggered by this act. Using these sonic experiences, you’ll shape clay objects to express personal narratives. The workshop concludes by linking these creations into a collective “map” of sound narratives that blends space, memory and artistic expression.

Biography

Dijana Engelmann is a visual artist who graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Split. Often involving clay and participatory formats, her practice explores the relationship between material, memory and narrative. Rooted in sculpture and expanded through installations and collective processes, her work engages with embodied experience, the poetics of place and issues of identity and displacement.

Using local materials such as clay from southern Luxembourg, she creates connections between environment, memory and transformation. Her projects include site-specific installations, material research and community workshops that activate shared spaces through artistic exchange. Drawing on personal experiences of migration and living in multicultural environments, she investigates the fragile relationships between real and imagined spaces. Engelmann has exhibited in Croatia, Luxembourg and Germany, and regularly leads educational and collaborative workshops in partnership with institutions such as Konschthal Esch and local schools. She will participate in the Bridderhaus residency in Esch-sur-Alzette in autumn 2025.

She lives and works between Luxembourg and Croatia.
