Through sound experimentation and installation, Alan Affichard explores processes of knowledge, ancient techniques and craftsmanship. Throughout these researches, he develops instruments, sound objects and performances revealing complex physical and acoustic dynamics, as well as their instability.
His work interweaves materials with sounds while questioning their narrative potential. It has been exhibited in La Conserverie (Marrakech); Between Bridges (Berlin); Treize (Paris); Fieldwork Marfa (Marfa), and his performances have been presented at Wiener Festwochen (Vienna); Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art (Porto); Fridericianum (Kassel); Sharjah Art Foundation (Sharjah); 58th Venice Biennale (Venice); among other venues. He lives and works in Berlin.
