The Mudam Luxembourg – Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean is the flagship contemporary art museum in Luxembourg thanks to its collection, exhibitions, programming and international partnerships. Mudam’s mission is to exhibit and acquire the most significant contemporary art of our time and make it accessible to a wide audience.
Mudam Luxembourg’s Communication Department is looking for a Publications Officer.
Duties
The Publications Officer will work in close collaboration with the Head of Publications, exhibition curators and the museum's Communication Department, as well as with external service providers.
He/she will assist with the coordination and supervision of the production of all catalogues and books published by the museum in accordance with established budgets and schedules.
He/she will prepare contracts with external stakeholders and perform administrative follow-up tasks.
He/she will look after picture research and manage authorisation and copyright requests relating to publications. He/she will also oversee the distribution of books. He/she will have impeccable spelling and have the ability to assess the editorial quality of a text.
He/she will provide editorial support in the production of the museum's communication materials and oversee the translation and proofreading process.
Requirements
- A degree or qualification in the fields of publishing, humanities or foreign languages
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Excellent writing skills in English and French. Fluency in German will be considered an asset
- Mastery of the editorial process and proficiency in managing editorial projects
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to manage priorities
- Flexibility and adaptability
