PJ Horny, the alter ego of Garance Eva Oliveras, presents a new performance as part of Dodeka.
Loosely conceived in response to Jessica Diamond’s I HATE BUSINESS at hqLX, the performance interrogates the entanglements of capitalism, patriarchy and image production.
Blending autofiction, viral semiotics, drag and cabaret, PJ Horny appropriates the chaotic logic of the internet to expose its fleeting trends, contradictions, and obsessions.
Through a choreography of viral dance moves, seduction, clowning and bodily transformation, the work dismantles symbols of power, American glamour and pop culture, turning them into slippery spectacles.
Biography
Garance Eva Oliveras is a Paris-based artist. Her performances combine parody lectures, drag and burlesque. Using the alias PJ Horny, a digital alter ego that allows her to subvert the codes of the attention economy, she examines the clownish dimension of online content production, where the body becomes a tool for storytelling, repetition and the circulation of images. Her work explores contemporary forms of femininity and self-representation in the age of digital platforms. She is particularly interested in the rhythms and narrative logics of algorithmic environments such as TikTok and Instagram, which she transposes into the performative space to reveal their underlying mechanisms.
