Stimulate your creativity

Danse fragmentée – corps, ombres et dessins

How do Giulia Cenci’s spatial sculptures affect us? How do we approach them, and how do they influence the way we move around in the exhibition space? In this workshop you will combine shapes, shadows, outlines and body parts to model a fleeting landscape in time and space.

The "Tempera" painting technique

Luxembourg artist Jean-Marie Biwer produced several paintings according to the ancient “Tempera” technique, that artists already applied hundreds of years ago – a color consisting of egg yolk, pigment and water.

This first video shows how to make “Tempera” and now it’s up to you to try out that little experiment at home. Look in your kitchen cabinet for pigments (turmeric, paprika, cocoa, etc.) and let your imagination play!

The chocolate printing technique

It’s the national holiday, the Nationalfeierdaag!

In our second workshop video, inspired by Stephan Balkenhol’s painted wooden portraits of Grand Duke Jean and Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte, we are rediscovering a taste for craftsmanship. The technique of engraving consists in carving a material (in our case the chocolate bar) with a pointed tool to make a drawing that will be printed on paper. All you need is a chocolate bar, one or more objects to engrave with (a screwdriver, a pencil, a spoon handle, tweezers), a brush, paper and an iron on low heat. Start with doing some tests, which allows you to understand how the material reacts with your tools. Tinker with your chocolate bar, look for interesting structures and effects, and most importantly: let your creativity run free!
