Contemporary artists of today seek to convey a message through their work. They react to the world around them and turn their focus to the issues facing the modern world. They address a very diverse range of subjects, from the world of economics and the political situation to environmental and social issues. The artists whose work is on display in the Freigeister (Free Spirits) and Post-Capitalexhibitions reflect this perfectly. Join one of our guides and discover the different issues raised in these works, then visit the Mudam Studio and take part in the ‘ABC’ project. This is a participative and ongoing installation in which pupils are invited to contribute to the ‘ABC’ by sharing their thoughts and perceptions through words and drawings. We will discuss different words, from A for ailleurs [elsewhere], through B for Biodiversité [biodiversity], D for diversité [diversity], G for ‘gender’, P for polygotte [polyglot] … right up to Z for zesummen [together].
