Stories for children illustrated by artworks in the museum.

Come and test your imagination, sensations and creativity. With a book as a starting point, children will have a singular experience that will lead to the creation of a large collective fresco.

Reimagining Mudam!
In the context of the exhibition A Model

Let’s make a one-of-a-kind museum! Each class is invited to contribute by adding drawings, words, and ideas to a Mudam poster. Each class will also create a large collective work of art that rethinks the vision for a museum of today.

Imagination in Motion
Come and transform still images from the museum into fun animations with your class group. With your added touch of imagination, you will be able to create your own stories and start your animation journey through Mudam.

What would the ideal museum look like today?
Within the framework of the exhibition A Model

Mudam Publics has invited an architect, Tom Bleser (specialist in 3D modelling), an architectural advisory group on ecosystems, Sensbox, and a graphic designer, Henri Schoetter, to lead an interdisciplinary workshop with three secondaire class groups in response to the exhibition A Model. This workshop will culminate in an exhibition at Mudam on the following theme: ‘What would the ideal museum look like today? Reimagining the museum as a living space, and not a mere site of presentation.’

The workshop with the architect will focus on architecture, the workshop with the urban planner/landscaper on the park surrounding Mudam, and the workshop with the graphic designer on the very concept of the museum.

Drawing on I.M. Pei’s architecture, we invite students to reconsider what the museum would be if it had been conceived in 2024. Architecture is constantly evolving and environmental and accessibility concerns are more important today than they were 30 years ago.

The students will explore the hidden face of Mudam, learn to read blueprints and familiarise themselves with the building and its surroundings. To reinvent Mudam according to their own vision of an ideal museum, the students will present their ideas with the aid of texts, illustrations, drawings, collages, maquettes, etc.

EduBox

The Mudam EduBox is a file produced by the museum’s education team to enable secondary-school teachers to link their teaching to contemporary art and give students access to the works of art in the current exhibition.

Michel Majerus – Next Step, 2021 by Anne Schiltz
The documentary on the work by the Luxembourgish artist Michel Majerus (b. 1967, Esch-sur-Alzette – d. 2002, Niederanven) will soon be available on the platformFilms4Schools.lu. In collaboration with Samsa, CNA, Zentrum fir politesch Bildung and Mudam, an educational file has been written and designed for both teachers and students who wish to learn more about the artist, his key themes, the historical context and the documentary’s genre.
