The architectural design of Franco Albini and Franca Helg is an important reference for the artist Leonor Antunes. The emphasis these architects placed on detail, spatial simplicity and, above all, choice of materials, are important considerations also for Antunes.

The documentary, Franco Albini. Uno sguardo leggero is a collection of testimonies on the professional and personal life of Albini by renowned film directors, photographers and architects such as Peter Greenaway, Oliviero Toscani, Vittorio Gregott and by different members of his family.

Biography
Franco Albini (b. 1905, Robbiate, Italy – d. 1977, Milan, Italy) moved in 1916 to Milan where he got his degree in Architecture at the Politecnico (1929) and began working in the firm Ponti and Lancia. In 1931 he opened his own private practice with Renato Camus and Giancarlo Palanti working on council housing: neighbourhoods “Fabio Filzi” (1936-38), “Gabriele D’Annunzio” (1938-40) and “Ettore Ponti” (1939). In the years before and during the war he continued his research on urban projects and housing solutions: from “Milano Verde” to Villa Pestarini (1938). In 1952 he began to collaborate with Franca Helg. In the years following the studio created important projects including the Ina office building in Parma (1950-54) and the shopping center La Rinascente in Rome (1957-61). In the sixties, together with the graphic designer Noorda he designed the Metropolitana Milanese (subway stations).
