Illustrator, comic strip author and press cartoonist Jochen Gerner approaches the vast field of illustration as a journey that explores the relationships between the written and the visual. His works are characterised in particular by his activities within OuBaPo (Ouvroir de Bande dessinée Potentielle) which, following the example of the literary group OuLiPo (Ouvroir de Littérature Potentielle), initiated in 1960 by Raymond Queneau, brings together illustrators from different backgrounds to engage in experimental exercises and writing processes.
