In this creative workshop of mixed techniques, participants will get to connect with their playful and intuitive habits to create a ‘precious stone’ made out of tufting and blended with textile collage on canvas. This is an opportunity to learn the basics of the tufting technique and develop a creative composition on the canvas. While moodboards will be there to use as an inspiration, each participant will be free to come up with their own idea of a ‘precious stone’ mini rug. No special requisitions are needed, only having the desire to play with colours and textures that will lead to an enriching tactile experience!

Biography:

Julie Costentin (b. 1991, Luxembourg) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Barcelona. Her work combines painting and tufting to create hybrid pieces that explore color, texture, and emotion. Inspired by her background in illustration and her multicultural experience living in Luxembourg, Brussels, and Madrid, she creates immersive, playful compositions that blend figurative and abstract elements. Her practice includes framed tufted rugs, mixed-media paintings, and contemporary tufted products such as pillows and mirrors, where symbolic motifs and bold color palettes converge to create tactile, joyful experiences.
