The Luxembourg Pavilion at the 59th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia is host to an ambitious pictorial installation by Tina Gillen (b. 1972, Luxembourg).

During this talk moderated by Christophe Gallois, curator of the exhibition, Tina Gillen will revisit the genesis of the project and its major themes: questions around landscape and housing that have long driven her practice, as well as more recent developments, such as her interest in natural phenomena that escape human control and the relationship between painting and space.

This conversation with Tina Gillen marks the launch of the publication Tina Gillen. Faraway So Close (Mudam Luxembourg, Hatje Cantz, 2022) and will feature the screening of a short documentary film shot in both the artist’s studio in Brussels and her exhibition in Venice.

The event will be followed by a book signing with the artist.
