This summer Mudam Publics invites the Luxembourg architectural practice, 2001, to explore current retrospective exhibition Bert Theis. Building Philosophy – Cultivating Utopia.

Join us for a series of activities and events that explore notions of public space and transforming urban space.

Aggloworld: Collaging Utopia
Agglomerate (to) /əˌɡlɑː.məˈreɪ.ʃən/:
The action or process of collecting in a mass.

Ad-hoc visions In this free workshop, participants are invited to compose alternative narratives and fictions for the built environment. Using collage as a medium, existing architecture and other elements within the urban landscape are brought together in order to form utopian environments.

Every day in the Mudam Studio.
For adults, young people and children with a parent or guardian.
Free admission.
No booking required.

Philosophical Picnic: Utopia in-between
Picnic /ˈpɪk.nɪk/:
A meal taken outdoors as part of an excursion – ideally in scenic surroundings, such as a park, lakeside, or other place affording an interesting view.

Into public deserts and beyond This excursion invites participants to venture into some of Europe’s most iconic public buildings and enjoy a picnic in the overlooked and unusual spaces to be found between columns, buildings, jurisdictions and security protocols… Utopistas will for a brief moment occupy and enliven these parts of public space, disrupting the status quo of the Eurocrats’ ghetto.

Demand the impossible! Led by typographer and graphic designer, Sacha Rein, participants are invited initially to compose slogans based on their utopian ideals and desires and then to make them into placards announcing their utopian demands.
