Under the direction of dancer and choreographer Elisabeth Schilling, young participants will have the opportunity to discover the exhibition by visual artist Lynette Yiadom-Boakye and use this as a springboard to create a dance performance based on music by Pascal Schumacher.
Yiadom-Boakye's paintings seem both familiar yet mysterious to us. Her portraits show fictitious figures exchanging glances – a crucial element in the artist's work. The moments these figurative works communicate plunge the viewer into an imaginary world. Guided by this, participants will bring these characters to life with their body and their individual creativity, allowing their own memories and narratives to become part of the art.
