Presented by Casa Testori, a cultural hub on the fringe of Milan, the Museo del Novecento e del Contemporaneo di Palazzo Fabroni of Pistoia and several international cultural partners, "I AM NOT LEGEND" has been realized with the support of the Italian Council (Sixth Edition, 2019).
I Am Not Legend looks at the question of identity and our relationships with otherness and death, through a contemporary reinterpretation of one of the masterpieces of cinema, George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead (1968). In his animated version of the film, Mastrovito has removed all the zombies and changed the scenario so that all characters talk exclusively in quotes from the most famous films, books and songs of our era. Through the animation of more than 100,000 images in which digital printing merges with painting and erasure, his work offers a poetic reading of our times.
