Screening of a series of short animations by Naomi van Niekerk.
For this year’s annual collaboration with the Luxembourg City Film Festival, Mudam has given carte blanche to William Kentridge who has suggested the work of the young South African director, Naomi van Niekerk. A marathon of short animations will be screened at Mudam Auditorium.
Naomi van Niekerk (b.1984, South Africa) works with moving images, printmaking, puppetry and performance. She has been collaborating with dancers and musicians since 2011 to make interdisciplinary performances that combine animation, live drawing, movement and music. She won the Jean-Luc Xiberras Award for the Best First Film at the Annecy International Film Festival for An ordinary blue Monday and My mum’s bonkers was awarded the Creative Revelation Award at the Anima festival in 2018 in Brussels.
