This summer, Mudam is happy to invite you to join our series of Pleasure Gardens.
Taking its name from a central concept to the work of Tourmaline, artist, writer, and transgender activist, we invite you to join us for moments of active conviviality, where food will be savoured while you’ll hear from, and experience with, artists, educators, activists and curators.
Bringing art, conversations, and creative activities to the Park Drai Eechelen, right around Mudam, the Pleasure Gardens activities will offer the opportunity to experiment different forms to engage with the exhibition Tourmaline: Pleasure and Pollinator in a pleasant outdoor setting.
Beginning with a guided tour of Tourmaline’s exhibition, we will gain inspiration for our artistic journey through the day. After enjoying a peaceful picnic in the Park Dräi Eechelen, we’ll learn the art of bookbinding, and will create a personalised artist’s notebook. To end the day, we’ll explore drawing techniques and let our imaginations fly. Connect with fellow participants, share your work and take home a cherished artist’s notebook filled with your creations.
SINGA means ‘to connect’ in Lingala, a language spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Implied by the name, SINGA asbl helps to connect newcomers and locals through diverse programmes and events to facilitate the adaptation and inclusion processes that come with a new location.
