Self-publishing practices and translation: A Workshop for Independent Authors

When

Within the framework of the exhibition

The Collective Laboratory

Participation

Free

Open to everyone aged 15 and over, with no prior knowledge required, this translation workshop conducted by the collective in residency Burn~Août, provides a temporary framework for a group of around ten people to reflect on issues of self-publishing and, more generally, the development of a personal editorial practice. To do this, we will start by reading a publication by Marc Fischer, Towards A Self-Sustaining Publishing Model, discussing and reflecting together on its content and then work together to translate this short text, individually or in groups, into one or more languages, to be defined according to the languages spoken by the participants. The workshop will be followed by a discussion session, where everyone is free to raise questions about the text or, more broadly, about the act of translating and self-publishing. This workshop is for all of you who are curious about text editing, publishing and translation!
