Public Programme
Mudam’s public programme is open to everyone who is curious about art and contemporary issues.
Through a wide range of activities and projects, visitors are invited to engage with the themes and questions explored by the museum. A practical, hands-on approach encourages first-hand encounters with art through workshops, activations and engagement programmes. Educational and accessible content is also offered, enabling visitors to learn directly from trained professionals through formats ranging from guided tours to symposia. Across all formats, fostering exchanges between communities, artists, researchers and educators is central to the development of Mudam’s mission.
Guided Tours
Mudam offers a variety of guided tours designed to help visitors deepen their understanding of the museum and its exhibitions, according to their interests.
Regular tours
Mudam offers weekly guided tours in the different languages of Luxembourg. A mediator presents the current exhibitions to the visitors, during a 45-minute guided tour.

Private Guided Tours
There are three types of group tours. On request, these guided tours can be followed by a brunch, lunch or tea at Mudam Café. (Max. 20 people per group)

Architecture Guided Tours
Once a month, the regular guided tours focus on the architecture and history of Mudam, highlighting the importance of the museum’s building within Luxembourg’s cultural landscape.

Meditation Guided Tours
In collaboration with Sportunity asbl and experienced yoga teacher Julien Beladina, these special tours offer a contemplative experience in the gallery spaces, linking the content of the exhibitions with a mindful physical practice.
Artist Tours
While in Luxembourg, exhibiting artists at Mudam may lead guided tours of their own exhibitions, offering visitors direct insight into their work, their creative process, and the meanings and interpretations it invites.
Curatorial Tours
Curators are the initiators of an exhibition, selecting the artists and artworks shown at Mudam to explore specific themes with visitors. A guided tour with them provides deeper insight into the curatorial choices and the narratives developed within the exhibition.
Regards Croisés
As many contemporary artworks engage with scientific and/or social themes, the perspective of an expert in these fields is highlighted in a Regards Croisés (crossed perspectives) tour. The scholar, artist, or curator shares their interpretation of the exhibition through the lens of their own knowledge and research.

As part of its educational mission, Mudam is committed to fostering a diversity of voices and forms of knowledge for its public.
Mudam Akademie
For audiences interested in art history, Mudam offers a year-long cycle of conferences that connects historical landmarks with current concerns in artistic practice. Organised around the museum’s exhibitions, each session explores a different facet of modern and contemporary art.
Artist Talks
As artists are at the centre of Mudam’s mission, offering them a platform not only to exhibit their work but also to connect directly with the public and share their processes and practices is a key aspect of our educational programme.
Mudam Talks
Addressing contemporary issues and fostering dialogue between art and research, Mudam Talks brings together a range of professionals to discuss topics of interest linked to the museum’s concerns.
Book Launches
Mudam’s activities include the publication of books related to its exhibitions and the artists in its collection. To promote these publications, book launches featuring their contributors provide an opportunity to discover their content and engage directly with the authors.
Artistic practices
Learning often takes place through doing and participation; for this reason, Mudam offers public activities that engage visitors directly with artworks. Creating and observing art allows visitors to develop a personal connection with contemporary art.
Workshops
Designed to encourage first-hand experimentation with artistic practices under the guidance of an artist, Mudam’s workshops provide visitors with opportunities to explore their creativity and develop critical thinking around a chosen theme.
Performances
Live performance is a significant aspect of contemporary art, and Mudam is committed to presenting these works directly to its public. Whether as spectators or active participants, visitors are invited to experience art in the present moment and in direct dialogue with artists.
Listening sessions
Sound is an integral medium of contemporary creation, and active listening can constitute an artistic experience in itself. Live sessions are organised to foster a conscious encounter with sound, allowing visitors to connect with what they are hearing.
Screening programmes
Cinema and film can serve as sources of inspiration and/or integral components of an artist’s vision. Through screening programmes, Mudam invites visitors to engage with a set of references that are essential to understanding an artwork or an issue, and to develop their own perspective.
Engagement programmes
Some activities at Mudam are less directly connected to the content of the exhibitions, but aim to transform the museum into a lively, hospitable and welcoming place for all, fostering connections and a sense of belonging.
Wednesday Night Fever
As museums are public spaces that aim to bring communities together and promote democratic values, Wednesday evenings, when admission to Mudam is free, are occasionally dedicated to group activities that are both social and cultural, co-hosted by a local collective.
Lunchtime at Mudam
On the first and last Friday of each month, in close collaboration with its café Chiche!, Mudam offers a short and accessible format combining a guided tour and a meal, enabling visitors to discover the diversity of the exhibitions and culinary offerings at the museum in just one hour.
Parties
To mark the opening of a new exhibition or to celebrate the season, Mudam organises parties and DJ sets in its indoor and outdoor spaces, with music and dance at the heart of a shared social and cultural experience.
