New forms of cultural consumption and participation call for new skill sets. This two-day international conference will bring together eminent figures from the cultural and academic worlds to address the numerous challenges that cultural institutions are facing today. By combining theoretical approaches and practical experiences, it will broach a wide range of topical issues, including the representation of multiple identities and diverse audiences, the role of digital technology, the powers of mediation, the requirements of community building and the increasing focus on figures. In doing so, it intends to make an important contribution to the acknowledgment and promotion of professional training in the face of changing cultural practices.
