Seconded Teacher – Publics Department

Contract: Secondment from the Ministry of Education 
Duration: 2026/2027 school year, 1 to 2 days per week


Mission : Development of educational projects and outreach to school audiences in contemporary art

As part of its educational activities, Mudam is seeking a seconded teacher to strengthen the links between the museum and the school community. Working in close collaboration with the Publics Department, the successful candidate will contribute to the development, conceptualisation, and implementation of educational projects aimed at primary and secondary schools.


Main Responsibilities

  • Welcome and accompany school groups during visits, workshops, and educational activities at the museum.
  • Participate in the development and adaptation of Mudam's educational offer for different school levels.
  • Contribute to the integration of the museum's content and resources into the Luxembourg school curriculum.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts with schools, teachers, and stakeholders in the education sector.
  • Design and implement medium- and long-term educational projects in partnership with schools and partner classes.
  • Participate in the creation, writing, and updating of educational tools for teachers and students (EduBox, educational dossiers, activity sheets, digital resources, etc.).
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of training sessions, events, and resources for teachers, with a view to promoting the use of contemporary art as a pedagogical tool in the classroom.
  • Contribute to reflection on mediation and learning methods in relation to contemporary art.
  • Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of educational projects carried out with schools.
  • Monitor innovative pedagogical practices in the fields of arts and cultural education.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainable partnerships between Mudam, schools, and actors in the education sector.


Candidate Profile

  • Teacher in primary or secondary education.
  • Strong interest in contemporary art, cultural mediation, and innovative pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience in designing and implementing educational projects.
  • Ability to translate complex content into educational tools suited to diverse school audiences.
  • Capacity to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and organisational skills.
  • Interest in interdisciplinary approaches connecting art, culture, society, and education.
  • Proficiency in French is essential. Knowledge of English, Luxembourgish, and/or German is an asset.


Working Environment

The seconded teacher will join the Mudam Publics Department and work in close collaboration with the team responsible for school programmes, cultural mediation, and audience development.

This role serves as a bridge between the school world and the museum. It aims to strengthen lasting ties between education and contemporary art, to promote young people's access to contemporary creation, and to develop forms of learning that foster curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and dialogue.
