Curatorial Internship – Artistic Department

Mudam Luxembourg – Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean is seeking a curatorial intern for its Artistic Department.

  • Start date: September 2026 (exact starting date depending on availability) 
  • Duration: 4 to 6 months
  • Internship subject to a training agreement
  • 40h00/week
  • Occasional work on weekends and in the evenings

Mudam:

Mudam Luxembourg – Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean opened in 2006 in a purpose-built building designed by the renowned Sino-American architect Ieoh Ming Pei and is located in Park Dräi Eechelen, overlooking the historic city of Luxembourg. Through its collection, exhibitions, artistic and educational programmes and partnerships, Mudam Luxembourg aims to advance its mission to present the most relevant contemporary art of our time to the largest possible public.


Your missions: 

You will actively contribute to the realisation of exhibitions and performances scheduled for autumn 2026 and 2027. Working closely with curators, the production team, and external collaborators, including artists, you will gain hands‑on experience in the curatorial process and the day‑to‑day operations of a contemporary art museum. You will benefit from a work environment that facilitates learning and exchange and valuable professional experience for the development of your career in the curatorial field.  

  • Participate in the implementation of exhibition and performance projects 
  • Assist in liaising with artists, partner institutions, external collaborators, and in welcoming artists.
  • Contribute to the preparation and follow‑up of exhibition and performance documents (contracts, budgets, schedules, checklists, installation and scenography plans, etc.).
  • Assist in preparing meetings and sharing information across the museum.
  • Carry out bibliographic, documentary, and iconographic research from a cross-disciplinary perspective.
  • Contribute to researching and drafting of interpretative texts that are accessible to all audiences.


Your profile:

  • Student in art history, curatorial studies or human sciences, with sound knowledge of 20th‑century and contemporary art.
  • Proven research and analytical skills, thoroughness and pragmatism. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of French, German and/or Luxembourgish is considered an asset.
